2016 Emmy Winner Prediction: Outstanding Writing for a Limited Series or Movie

This category could honestly go in any direction, but with The People Versus O.J. Simpson nabbing three nominations in this category, it is likely the award will go to one of these nominees. Of the three, D.V. DeVincentis’ script for the episode “Marcia, Marcia, Marcia” was astounding and was one of the best episodes of the entire limited series by showcasing the horrid level of sexism Marcia Clark endured during the O.J. Simpson trial. However with the other two People Versus O.J. Simpson nominees also having direction nominations, it is more likely either “From the Ashes of Tragedy” or “The Race Card” will secure a win. Of the two, “From the Ashes of Tragedy” was an outstanding opening episode that introduced all characters perfectly and flawlessly set the stage for the remainder of the limited series. The other nominees of this category will only win if The People Versus O.J. Simpson cancel each other out to allow an upset win to happen.

The Nominees:
Fargo – “Loplop” – Bob DeLaurentis
Fargo – “Palindrome” – Noah Hawley
The Night Manager – David Farr
The People Versus O.J. Simpson – “From the Ashes of Tragedy” – Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski
The People Versus O.J. Simpson – “Marcia, Marcia, Marcia” – D.V. DeVincentis
The People Versus O.J. Simpson – “The Race Card” – Joe Robert Cole

Will Win: The People Versus O.J. Simpson – “From the Ashes of Tragedy” – Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski
Could Win: The People Versus O.J. Simpson – “The Race Card” – Joe Robert Cole
Should Win: The People Versus O.J. Simpson – “Marcia, Marcia, Marcia” – D.V. DeVincentis
